    What is a Paediatric OT?

A Paediatric OT is a health professional who supports children in developing the physical, cognitive, and social abilities they need to engage in everyday activities like self-care, play, and learning at kinder or school. Using individualised assessments and therapy programs, they help children overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their greatest level of independence and participation.

    Do I require a referral?

No formal or medical referral is required to access occupational therapy.

What is the duration of each OT session?

Sessions are billed for one hour, which includes 50 minutes of face-to-face therapy and 10 minutes for session preparation and required documentation. The number of occupational therapy sessions required will depend on your child’s individual needs.

What is The Magic Crayon’s Cancellation Policy?

24 hours’ notice is required if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a cancellation fee.

    What are the payment terms?

Private and NDIS self-managed clients are required to make payment at the end of each appointment.

For offsite sessions (e.g. kinder or school visits), payment is requested within 7 days.

Is funding through Private health insurance available?

A rebate for occupational therapy sessions may be able to be claimed through your private health insurance. Coverage and rebate amounts vary, so contact your relevant provider for details on you eligibility to be make a claim.
